| Bettencourt shoots 69 on Sunday for first victory

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- Matt Bettencourt fired a final-round 69 Sunday to win the Oregon Classic for
his first career title. Bettencourt, the 54-hole leader, posted a tournament-record 19-under 269
total, good for a two-stroke win at Shadow Hills Country Club. Former U.S. Amateur champion Bubba
Dickerson (68) finished second while Spencer Levin (68) was third, three back. |

| Oregon Classic Announces First Sponsor's Exemption to Former University of Oregon Star John Ellis
|
| Eugene, OR (August 25, 2008) - The Oregon Classic presented by Kendall Auto Group has awarded John Ellis a sponsor's exemption to participate in the tournament taking place September 15-21 at Shadow Hills Country Club. Ellis is the first of four players to be offered an exemption; the remaining three will be announced at a later date. John Ellis will be making his fourth start in the Oregon Classic, an official PGA TOUR event on the Nationwide Tour. In his previous three starts, Ellis made the cut twice highlighted by a tie for 13th in 2006. |

Ellis, from San Jose, CA, competed for the University of Oregon golf team from 2000 to 2003. His career was capped during his final season for the Ducks with a victory in the Oregon Duck Invitational and being honored with a First-Team All Pac-Ten selection.

JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- Kyle Thompson eagled the 18th hole Sunday to tie for the lead, then birdied that same hole twice in a row in sudden death to win the Oregon Classic presented by Kendall Automotive Group. The victory was his second of the 2007 season.

Kyle Thompson made a 60-foot eagle putt on the final hole of regulation to finish the tournament at 17 under par and force a playoff with Matthew Jones and Jon Turcott at the Oregon Classic presented by Kendall Auto Group. Thompson, who shot back-to-back 67s on the weekend, then made birdie on the second playoff hole for his second win of the 2007 season. |
