In
its first nine years, the Oregon Classic has generated
more than $800,000 for
charity through cash donations and gifts. The Tournament's
primary beneficiary in 2008 is the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic,
which provides compassionate healthcare for uninsured patients below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. In addition, an average of 220 volunteers a month give a combined total of 1600 hours of their time to helping others through the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic.
A second charitable beneficiary for 2008 is The First Tee of Willamette Valley, which impacts the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.
